Ingredients

1 1/2 cups Butter
1 1/2 cups Organic sugar
2 Eggs
1/2 cup Molasses
4 1/2 cups All purpose flour
2 tsp Baking soda
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Cloves
2 tsp Cinnamon
2 tsp Ginger

Instructions

In a mixer, cream the butter and sugar until well mixed. Add eggs and molasses and beat until blended. Mix all dry ingredients together, turn mixer to low and add. Mix until dough is thoroughly mixed. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Cover baking sheet with parchment. Make a walnut size ball of dough; dip one side in sugar and place on sheet pan sugar side up about 2” apart. Place in oven and bake for 6 minutes. Remove from oven and make an indentation with a spoon. Avoid pushing to the bottom of the cookie, otherwise jam will soak through. Add 1 teaspoon of your favorite Food For Thought preserves. Return to oven and bake another 5 to 6 minutes.
