Grand Marnier Cake served with Vanilla Sabayon and fresh Sweet Balsamic Strawberries

Ingredients

1 Cup Butter
1 1/2 Cup Sugar
2 Cup Flour
3 Eggs (separated)
1 tsp Baking powder
1 tsp Baking soda
1/2 tsp Salt
1 Cup Sour cream
1 Orange (grated)
2 tbsp Sugar
1/4 Cup Orange juice
1/2 Cup Grand Marnier
For Strawberries
1/4 Quat Water
125 grammes Sugar
4 tbsp Balsamic syrup (paste)

Instructions

For Cake:

First cream your butter and sugar together until it’s nice and fluffy. Then add sour cream, orange juice and Grand Marnier. In a separate bowl mix your 2 tbsp sugar with your egg yolks. Add to batter. In yet another bowl mix your egg whites. Add to batter. Then add the remaining dry ingredients. Mix the batter well. Bake at 325 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

For Vanilla Sabayon:

125 grammes of sugar to be cooked up to 118 degrees Celsius. When it’s at temperature, mix 8 egg yolks and add the cooked sugar to it (before you cook your sugar make sure you add a little bit of water to it to make it moist).

For Balsamic Strawberries:

Add sugar to ¼ quart of water. Bring to a boil and let it reduce it by 50%. Then add balsamic syrup (paste). When the syrup is completely cooled, add about 1 dozen diced fresh strawberries.
